The IFE Certification Programs

A key objective for the Insitute for Entrepreneurship is to provide certificate training to the widest possible audience of entrepreneurs. In addition to licensing curriculum resources to Colleges of Entrepreneurship, IFE is developing a series of online certificates. These educational products provide learning experiences concentrated on a specific set of business goals.


Online learning is complimented by face-to-face learning through seminars and direct work with local area mentors. Practical project work and team collaboration are also important teaching and learning strategies for each certificate.

IFE programs will evolve from these broad entrepreneurship topics to highly focused training in a wide variety of industry and trade-specific enterprises. In addition to teaching business and technical skills, and the foundation of entrepreneurship (how to successfully start and manage a new venture), each IFE certificate program is committed to strengthening personal development in such areas as leadership, ethics, and higher-order thinking. We are concerned that every student in the program gains the skills to become life-long learners.

 

Certificate training offers a flexible fast-track opportunity to those students do not have the time or financial means to enter into a four year degree program. These entrepreneurs need support for their current venture now, not later. Certificates have long been a bridge between undergraduate and graduate programs, offering a focus on the real-world issues and skill building that is often lacking in a traditional academic setting. IFE will offer this opportunity for fast-track learning, maximizing the new tools of access, collaboration and multi-media learning providing by advancements in the Internet.


An experiential component of each certificate will be emphasized. IFE desires that every student will "live an entrepreneurial experience" with an early stage company as part of their learning process. The goal of the IFE certificate programs is to create a more highly skilled workforce, increased earning power, and a healthier economy.
